If my employer caused my injury, do I have grounds for a lawsuit?
It is possible, but not likely. Accepting workers' compensation generally means that you have given up your right to sue your employer. The only exceptions are cases of deliberate harm or gross negligence.
However, if a third party is responsible for your injury, you may be able to file a suit against them. A third party could be a client, the manufacturer of tools you use at work, or the employee of a company that works with yours.
