How long do I have to be out of work after an injury to receive disability?

You can receive South Carolina short-term disability compensation if you are out of work for 7 days or longer. This time off must be necessary for your treatment or recovery. On the other hand, if your injury has caused a permanent disability, you may be eligible for long-term disability payments. Disabled workers can receive these payments for up to 500 weeks.

If you have more questions about disability benefits, contact a Charleston disability benefits attorney at 843-720-2800.
