Workers' Comp Scammers Sentenced

by Administrator 20. October 2008 06:10
Two South Carolina residents will spend up to 10 years in prison for their workers' comp scam. The two residents stole workers' comp checks that were sent to another tenant of their building. They had been stealing these checks since 1987, when the woman who received them died. Both scammers pleaded guilty to fraudulent schemes, and are being sentenced to up to 10 years in prison as well as having to pay $210, 077 in restitution. Workers' compensation is a very helpful thing that people deserve to get. However, situations like this make some employers very wary. If you are seeking workers' compensation, contact the South Carolina workers' compensation attorneys of The Steinberg Law Firm at 843-720-2800.
