SC Supreme Court Rules Migrant Worker's Injury is Compensable

by Administrator 4. March 2010 01:56

The South Carolina supreme court ruled on Tuesday that a migrant worker who suffered injuries while living in employer-provided housing is eligible for compensation for his injuries. An initial judgment at the Circuit Court level ruled that the injured individual was not eligible for compensation because he was not at work, but the Supreme Court disagreed. The decision to award compensation was based on the circumstances surrounding the case, in which the man suffered a broken ankle due to hazards on his employer's property.
