Road Workers at Risk

by Administrator 22. May 2009 06:30

Individuals who work on road construction or road repairs are at risk from a variety of dangerous factors.  To begin,  the actual act of building or repairing  road can be dangerous.  The power tools used, the large vehicles such as tractors, and other tools all pose unique risks to the workers.

Other risks, and possibly the most serious, come from drivers on the road.  These drivers can sometimes run over or strike workers who are near the side of the road.  With this in mind,  it is extremely important to observe and obey all traffic laws designed to notify of workers around an area.  Many times, the workers are not able to hear or see a car approaching because of the noise of the highway, so it is up to the driver to take the proper safety steps.
