Lately, many Republican and Democrat leaders have been trading words on how current workers' compensation programs can be improved. The Republicans have traditionally been for the business, where as the Democrats have traditionally been in the interest of the worker.
It is disappointing in some ways because both sides have valid points about steps that could be used to improve the current system. Both sides typically take an extreme approach, and do not actually look at the valid points made by the other.
For the system to be improved it essentially comes down to, how can costs be cut while still providing the compensation and benefits that injured workers deserve.
