One-car accident kills one woman

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car accident that killed one woman.

A 61-year-old woman was driving on Cross Anchor Highway when her Nissan Altima ran off of the side of the road. The car then hit a tree and landed in a ravine. The woman was entrapped in the car after the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene but emergency rescue crews. Officials say that the cause of her death was internal injuries and the toxicology report is still pending.
