Health Workers Protest Mandatory Flu Vaccine

by Administrator 5. October 2009 00:32

Many health workers in New York are protesting a recent mandate by state officials that has required all health workers to receive seasonal and swine flu vaccine shots.  If a worker does not comply with this recent order,  they risk the possibility of being fired.

Many workers have come out strongly against this mandate.  Many workers feel that the government is overstepping its boundaries by mandating the vaccines.  Many healthcare workers also feel that they are not being given the option to apply their healthcare knowledge and experience in deciding for themselves if they should receive the vaccine.

Although this type of mandate has not yet occurred for South Carolina,  it may set the stage for similar mandates in the future.
