One killed, two injured in accident on I-77

One person was killed and two more injured in a car accident on I-77 in Lexington County over the weekend.

According to highway patrol, the accident occurred at 3:30 a.m. near mile marker 3. A Chevy pickup was heading south when the it drove off the left side of the road and then overcorrected causing the car to go down an embankment on the right side of the road. The car rolled several times and all three passengers were ejected from the car. Police are still investigating what caused the accident.

 

One-car accident kills one woman

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car accident that killed one woman.

A 61-year-old woman was driving on Cross Anchor Highway when her Nissan Altima ran off of the side of the road. The car then hit a tree and landed in a ravine. The woman was entrapped in the car after the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene but emergency rescue crews. Officials say that the cause of her death was internal injuries and the toxicology report is still pending.

One killed, two injured in police chase accident

The passenger in a vehicle that was fleeing from police was killed on April 13.

According to officials, a Mitisubishi Galant was fleeing from police when it collided head on with a Ford Expedition. The driver of the car was airlifted to the hospital and his current condtion is unknown. The passenger of the vehicle was transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The identity and condition of the victim in the Expedition is unknown.

Police have not yet made a statement about the accident because they are waiting until the investigation is complete.

One killed in car crash in Myrtle Beach

An SUV struck a pickup truck in Myrtle Beach killing one man.

Around 5:30 p.m. the 25-year-old driver of the pickup truck was attempting to turn left on Kings Highway when he was struck by an SUV. The man was transported to the hospital where he died three hours later of injuries sustained in the accident. The man worked for a custon home building company in Port Colbane and had recently graduated from college.

Man injured in an accident in Aiken County

One man was serioulsy injured in an accident in Aiken County. 

Officials say that a driver of a pickup truck crossed the center line and hit a semi-truck causing one man to be seriously injured. Rescue crews had to cut the man from the car after the accident. It took rescue crews almost 20 minutes to extricate the man from the car. The man was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries and is still recovering. The driver of the pickup truck will be charged with Driving Left of Center.
