A log truck accident in Florence, S.C. closed Highway 76 while emergency crews worked to clean the road.

A spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that the log truck overturned around 9:45 a.m., spilling the logs across the road. One lane was closed while crews worked vigorously to clean all the logs off of the road. No serious injuries were reported.

A 58-year-old man was killed after a minivan and truck accident in Bibb County.

An investigation into the accident is still underway, but officials say that the man was driving in the rain when his van went underneath the tractor-trailer. The 43-year-old driver of the 18-wheeler was driving slowly trying to find a business through the inclement weather conditions. The minivan followed him up the hill and didn't slow down once he topped the hill. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured, but the 58-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol released information regarding the make and model of an 18-wheeler that was involved in a hit-and-run accident just before 1:00 a.m. on February 14th. The police believe that the truck is a white Freightliner that could be between an 1989-1998 model. The truck was involved in a rear-end collision with another vehicle, causing extensive damage to the vehicle and injuring the driver inside. Authorities are looking for information regarding the accident to help resolve the case.
