Trains are a vital trade line for our nation.  Millions of tons of cargo is shipped each and every year on railroads across America.

Many workers face the possibility of being injured on a railroad every day.  The injuries can occur in a variety of ways.  Collisions and a derailing of the train are some of the most serious accidents that a worker could potentially face.  Other common injuries for train workers are slip and falls, or other injuries that are typically associated with a traditional work place.

Fast Food Workers Face Many Dangers

by Administrator 22. June 2009 02:03

Fast food workers face many dangers throughout the day.  Many of the workers employed by fast food companies are just starting out, and may not have a lot of cooking experience before starting the job.  This can cause problems when the worker is employed with the task of working with sharp objects, extremely hot grease, and hot stoves.

Many young individuals are injured each year from accidents at fast food locations.  These types of accidents can happen suddenly, and leave the worker injured.  One of the most common type of injury in fast food locations is slip and fall injuries from the frantic pace that many companies try and have.

by Administrator 15. June 2009 01:41

A New York city transit worker has won a settlement of $13 million dollars falling an accident where the man fell over 30 feet to the ground below. The man fell when a board he was standing out gave-out from under him, causing him to fall. The man landed face first on a metal grate on the ground.

The accident caused  the worker to be in a coma for two months.

It was found that no one had told the man that the area he was standing out had the metal bolts removed and was unstable.  The jury ruled in favor of the worker, and awarded him $13 million for the accident and injuries he suffered.

Electrical Accidents Can Seriously Harm Workers

by Administrator 10. June 2009 02:06

Electrical accidents are a serious danger to many workers.  Many construction workers have to dig holes and sometimes risk hitting electrical wires that are underground.

One of the main dangers of electrical risk is that an individual is often unable to be immediately aided.  It occurs many times, but when someone goes to aid an individual who is electrocuted,  that person will get shocked as well.

It is important that if a company has any possibility of electrical risk, that the company take the proper safety steps and have a procedure for dealing with electrocution.
