Do Not be Afraid About Claiming Workers' Compensation

by Administrator 25. March 2009 03:05

Many people are hesitant to use their worker rights with an economy in recession.  Some believe that if they seek workers compensation that they will be denied the compensation, and then will be let go.  If an individual is injured in a work place accident,  they deserve compensation for the injury.

The worker should not be responsible for medical bill or other costs that are associated with being injured while on the job.  It is important for a company to provide the proper treatment and care to it's workers if they are injured.

Do not be afraid to seek compensation for an injury.

If you or someone you know has been injured on the job and is in need of workers' compensation benefits, contact the Charleston workers' compensation attorneys of The Steinberg Law Firm at 843-720-2800.

Injured Glass Worker Gets $1.3 Million Settlement

by Administrator 13. March 2009 05:19

A man received a $1.3 million dollar settlement involving an accident that occurred on the job while working.  The man was operating a glass bottle manufacturing machine when his shirt caught on fire which resulted in him receiving severe burns on his body.

The man's attorney stated that his client's medical bills were almost over $1 million dollars alone. The man was unable to work for over 3 years after the accident because of his injuries.

It seems that both sides feel that this settlement is a good ending to a serious accident.  When the defendants settled one stated that although they settled,  it did not mean they took responsibility for the accident but that it was the best thing to do.
